Saturday Club run To Hope 26th September

Cracking weather and a good route made last Saturdays Club Run a great day out.

Actually there were two routes, shorter and longer, but both with five or six thousand feet of ascent, both going over the Cat and Axe edge on the way out and both over Rushup Edge and up Goyt valley on the way back. In between was Millers Dale on the shorter and Monsall Head on the longer.

At the meet up in the park most of us opted for the longer ride so it was a smaller group on the shorter, both groups had a social and chatty ride, hard enough but fun also (see the video). The extra miles were all before the cafe in Hope so when the larger group arrived for a latish re-fuel of beans on toast and egg bacon and sausage butties etc the first group were relaxing in the sunshine having already got their orders in and contemplating the first climb on the way back up Mam Torr.

It was a good chance to get over into the peak district in the early autumn sunshine. Variety is a good thing so next Saturday's Club Run will be something different, keep a lookout here, on the calendar and WhatsApp a couple of days before.
