Easy Riding into an Audax

Have you ever wanted to try riding an audax but not sure what it's all about? Or maybe you have ridden audaxes in the past but before smart phones and e brevets? Or maybe you are an experienced audaxer and would like to share the joy with clubmates?

If so, then why not join us next Sunday October 4th for a nominally 50km, but actually 59km (37 mile) audax. It is my first ever audax and John will be making sure we all know what to do. Full details are in the calendar on the website, but the key information is as follows.

Start at 10.30am from Wilmslow, Lindow Common car park on Racecourse Road ( free parking). You will need to register at a cost of £2.50 beforehand if you want to be eligible for the badge! Follow the link below, if it is your first ever audax you will need to first follow the instructions at the bottom of the page and register with audax UK before entering the event. There is a time limit of just over 5 hours to complete the distance.

Riding in small groups at an average speed of around 12mph or the pace of the slowest rider, route link is below, so that you can download and come prepared. Weather forecast looks good at the moment, but it could change.

We will be stopping at Beeches cafe for lunch, with an optional second cafe stop later on if we have time.
