Ride report - JAR 30/7/2020

A great evening in the hills once again.

Six, me, Alison, Simon R, Nigel, Kevin N and Kev T, took advantage of the glorious evening weather and headed for the hills, on our second post - covid JAR.

Climbing out of Macc through Hurdsfield we made our way towards Shrigley via Kerridge Ridge and Bollington to climb Brickworks.

Regrouping at the top we were briefly joined by the Mavericks who had copied our brilliant idea, so we made our way to Kettleshulme to climb Windgather and Pym Chair.

After admiring the views we hurtled down The Street to the stunning Goyt Valley where, can you believe it, we were all overtaken by none other than Roger Wrenn (ok he was in a (rather girly) car)!

The view from The Cat was shared by what must have been every motorbiker in the Northwest enjoying the sunshine, but they couldn’t catch us as we descended the 740 feet drop to The Oven.

One last hill up to Standing Stones, then the descent through the forest into Langley where we enjoyed a socially-distanced refreshment on the balcony watching the sunset.
