Riverside Cafe, Shipbrook Hill Farm ride Sat 1st August

This was our first Saturday 1pm ride since March and it was great to see several familiar faces once again. In total we had 7 riders out. Although it was dry when we started by the time we got to Alderly Edge the rain had come. We soon donned our waterproof tops! On our ride out to Knutsford we encountered a farmer cutting hedges and by the time we reached Knutsford one of of group (Dave H) had a flat tyre - just outside Bikes n Gear!! Apart from this one incident the ride proceeded to the Riverside Organic Farm Cafe without any further incidents. The cafe was expecting us as we had arranged with them prior to leaving Macclesfield and ther was plenty of outside seating space for us as well as a covered area. Paul H left the group at the cafe and returned to Macclesfield ahead of the rest of us (Andy B, Dave H, Roger, Greg, Cath & Dave Har). We returned to Macclesfield via a slight detour past a Man City players house. On the way back a few riders then split off to an alternative pub given the news about The Ship. It was great to be back cycling as a group once again.
