The Steady Training Ride Is Going Well
Thanks to a couple of new riders the average age of the Monday night chain gang / Steady training ride is coming down a bit……
……. thats no bad thing at all and a bit overdue 🤨.
The one just gone was a good 10 up. Anwen turned up with dad Snowey and slotted in well. Lauren was on her third, on the first she got a right soaking 🌧 and was suffering from a bit a cramp towards the end then on her second she took tumble, no fault of her’s or anyone else’s, inconsiderate animals running out in the road cause more trouble that inconsiderate driver’s ☹️. So good on Lauren for turning out again despite all that and getting a good ride in with no setbacks and hopefully there will be a few more.
It was a brisk start to the circuit then a very slight headwind kicked in at Byley and a bit further on Peover Mountain was more of a test so the second half was a bit slower but thank’s to considerate riding and looking out for each other the group stayed together back to Siddington.
Kev kicked off first up Pexhill and your correspondent couldn’t stay with him, the last I saw Paul, Fozzy and Thorpy we in hot pursuit, I dont know how that ended up and who cares, I was 1st in my (oldish) age group, Lauren was 1st Lady (watch out Jo, Claire and Jill 🤪) with Snowey and Anwen who most likely won her age group 🏅 straight after, plus Oliver was 1st to AE and Mick 1st to Gawswoth.
Good riding from all 👏, come and join us next time (all age group’s welcome).
