The Last Saturday Club Run On The 7th March

It was the second this year when we had two separate groups on the road. Out of eighteen riders in total a larger group tackled a harder route to Hartington and back and a smaller group a more direct route missing out the plague stone and Crowdicote outwards and the Gunn plus Barlow hill returning. It might have been very slightly shorter and less climbing but it was hard enough and being more direct included a tougher climb onto Morridge Edge to Royal Cottage so no one got away without a good test of their climbing legs .

It’s been done before with varied take up but it's a while since two routes including an easier / shorter one have been provided. Even though it’s not always that simple to do, is it something that there is a big call for?, all feedback is welcome in order for the ride to evolve.

Anyway the next scheduled club run on 21st March will be a shorter, easier version as it’s Richard Elliot Three Loops Reliability Ride the following day . There isn't any scheduled club ride of any kind next Saturday 14th March or two weekly after that. The recent club rides survey not surprisingly revealed a desire for something on those days. A good number of respondents to the survey also expressed a willingness or interest in leading rides, if you're one of those members don't wait for someone else to do it or for a lead from the committee or working group because you might have a long wait. Just do it and if you don't know how, just ask.
