Springtime Easy Rides Round-up
We have had some good weather since mid February for our Sunday easy rides and Thursday pop-up extra easy rides.
Turn-out varies, with typically between 8 and 12 out on Sundays, and almost as many on Thursdays if the weather is good. Sunday rides tend to be longer, between 25 and 35 miles, depending upon start point and destination, Thursday rides are usually 20ish miles.
We have had a couple of prospective / new members out (welcome to Andrew who joined our ride today), and we have a good mix of regular riders and occasional riders out. We tend to split the group into two if there is a wide range of speed preferences out, I usually lead the slower group.
We have been spreading our custom around as many local cafes as possible (20!) Some of us, including John and I escaped to Majorca for some sunshine in April. Many thanks to Jim for leading the easy rides whilst we were away, with support from some of the regulars (Sue, Griff, Phil).
Most of the rides have been incident free, but we have had a few punctures, and one shoe related incident, resolved with a temporary lash-up with rubber bands and zip ties.
We are planning a longer ride to Chester on 22nd June, this is now in the calendar. We also have some Sunday afternoon rides planned in, so that we can make the most of the Great Budworth and High Legh afternoon teas. Everyone is welcome, please just check the details on the website before you come out.
