Nineteen on New Year's Day easy ride

The best way to celebrate New Year's Day is a sunny bike ride with club mates.

We set off in two groups from Wilmslow. John led the larger, faster group, whilst I led a group of six, growing to seven when Snowy caught up with us. Our route out took us through the airport tunnels then up Mill Lane which has a lovely new surface. Jim and I struggled a little up the hills, but we made it. My group arrived just a few minutes after John's group at Lymm Services, where we had a good choice of food outlets, and indoor warmth versus outdoor sunshine.

John and I amended our route back to avoid Dunham, remembering the traffic congestion there a year ago. It did mean that we could all enjoy the new tarmac on Mill Lane again! Well done everyone who made it out!
