Along the bylanes to Byley

Relatively mild and dry weather saw 14 of us turn out for the 32 mile Sunday easy ride to Higher Farm at Byley.

John led the group from Broken Cross and I rode out from home into a head wind to meet them at Jodrell Bank. We split into 2 uneven groups, with John B, Martin and me forming a slightly slower group, and John leading the rest. I took my group on one of my infamous short cuts, to ensure we arrived first at the cafe and placed our orders before the rest arrived.

The food came in generous portions, there was even a complaint that the breakfast was too big! We rode back as one group, until the climb up the hill after turning left out of Goostrey. There was some competition for the summit, and as a result we ended up in 2 groups. It stayed dry and we all had an enjoyable ride.

Next Sunday is Christmas Eve, John is planning to lead a ride from Wilmslow if the weather is alright. We also have easy rides in the calendar for Boxing Day and New Years Day.
