Easy riding out of September

9 of us visited the last Great Budworth afternoon tea of the 2023 season.

We welcomed novice rider Kay, out on her first group ride with us. She was learning how to use her cleats and gears, so we went at a steady pace, and she kept up with us in between the gear changes. There was some light rain on the way out, enough for us to stop to put on rain jackets, but it soon eased off. The sun came out at Great Budworth where there was a really good range of homemade cakes.

John adjusted Kay's saddle and showed her how to use her pump, and I then took a few of the group to the church so that they could see the rest of the pretty village. There was then some confusion, as I could not see the others on the lane down to the hall, so we carried on, thinking that they were ahead. It turned out that they were still in the car park, but they soon caught us up. It stayed dry for the rest of the ride, Kay made it successfully back with us, her longest ride to date, congratulations!

We also had a pop up ride last Thursday to the Beeches. It was dry, but a lot colder than expected, so we sat indoors.

I am away in Wales this week, so will not be offering a pop up ride this Thursday. This coming Sunday we have planned an easy ride to Chester, full details are on the website.
