Not 10-2-7 Not 6@ 6 Not A CHAIN GANG

It was a very pleasant one for cycling yesterday evening.

The last few weeks we have been doing through and off team time trail style on the easier training ride, this week it seemed a good idea to have a go at something else so we did it the other way with rider’s quickly changing at the front. After a little bit of rustiness getting it started from Siddington X roads we were well into it and going pretty slickly by the Red Lion. It kept going well all round the 10-2-7 circuit back to Siddington the only interruptions being at road junctions which seemed frustratingly busy.

On the final push back up Pexhill three riders opened up a gap straight away. It finished Mark and Chris who worked well together rather than raced against each other joint first 🥇 over the line , Carl would have been in contention but maybe not fancying it peeled off at Dark Lane letting yours truly take the last place on the podium 😀.

Ride of the night though goes to Francis 🏆, our newest recruit on a bike weighing a ton compared with everyone else’s must have worked the hardest and slotted in really well. Jill going strongly ( a bit to strongly on Congleton Ln for Andy 😀) was quickly up next after myself at Broken X and we also shouted a few pleasantry’s at 10-2-7 regular Mark B who we found on route.

Thanks to everyone who has participated we have established a good ride at 6pm on thursdays and there’s always been volunteers to lead a second group if required, so next Thursday and going forward there will be no need to pre book. The ride will still be adhering to all the current guidelines and will be in the same parameters as the 10-2-7 easier training ride….. mixed ability, 16 to 20mph average speed and everyone riding for each other.

See you all at 6pm next time, I’am looking forward to it already
