Not the Easier Training Ride @ 10-2-7 But 6@6

We might not have started @10-2-7 but we did do the definitive 10-2-7 circuit.

Andy R, Vinney, Jim, Christian, Boothy and yours truly Fred W went round in a well disiplined six up. My brief to the team was to do whatever one wanted on the front then move over and back when it was safe. At the de brief in the official bubble outside the Flower Pot post ride analysis suggested overall performance would have been better if we had done shorter but harder turns and that will be the plan next week.

Notable efforts were from Vinney who plugged away at the front into a slight headwind all the way from Siddington to somewhere on Forty Acre Lane, Boothy who kept up cracking pace from the Three Greyhounds to about a mile short of the A50 and Christian who smashed it up Congleton Lane.

Despite all that we were still no where near as quick as Mark W who earlier in the week consolidated his top spot on the overall leaderboard with his solo ride beating his own previous time by 2 minutes 👏. There were some changes in the standings though with Jim and myself now firmly moving into the top 20 as should Vinney when he gets round to logging his ride and Andy (always sits up on Pexhill) just outside. We are constrained though by needing to keep within the rides parameters, speed 16 to 20 mph and last night mine was 19.8 average so not much more room for improvement without breaking the ride’s rules, basically its more important to have a mutually beneficial ride keeping together in a well disiplined group than to chase any targets.

Those rules are relaxed a bit on the final assault of Pexhill where I couldn’t hang onto Boothy on the first ramp, Christain quickly jumped on him and the two of them opened up a gap. Before the long drag up to Dark Lane, Jim went round me but couldn’t pull them in and I went round Jim again at Bearhust Lane with Vinney the last man in our groupetto of three all the rest of the way to Broken X where the official result was ChrisđŸ„‡, BootheyđŸ„ˆ, Fred đŸ„‰,Jim, Vinney, Andy. Chris and Boothy also having changed places at Dark Lane/ Bearhurst Lane ( I dont think that was planned thođŸ€«).

If your up for it at 6pm next week its already up on the website, just get a email of before tuesday pm.
