Easier Training Ride @ 10-2-7 on 8th August

After a puncture on Pexhill we cracked on at a fast enough pace.

Despite the delay good time was made round the circuit due to several factors; good cycling weather, a big turnout so not to long for anybody at the pointy end, sensible riding with nobody smashing it up even inadvertently and very importantly good communication with such a big group, at junctions and turns everyone eased up until the “all up” shout.

The best news of the night was Ruth made her comeback ride after the rabbit incident, she sensibly hung on the back which gave her the opportunity to see all the action and pass on a few tips later in the PT to improve our riding next time. But i’am pleased to say overall her assessment was good.

Dave W, Elliot S, and Becky H made welcome returns to the ride and all slotted in well. Carl F, Andy R, Mark B, Mike C, Griff P, Jim D, Dave A and Rich T all made good contributions as usual and by the time Rachel joined us at Ollerton it was a record headcount.

First up at the Wizard was John H🥇 with Bennett🥈 2nd and Mr Duck🥉 3rd. Daisy P on her first outing @ 10-2-7 had a strong ride and hammered it up there👏, Fozzie did a quick one and is getting alarmingly close to Fred W’s strava PB😟 whilst I couldn’t get anywhere near the front (but i did start from the back).

So with 19 on the easier training ride and 6 on the fast one ( or was it 2 and 4) its pretty obvious that some of the stronger 10-2-7 rider’s should move up. Chris S has made the move successfully and Ant L does it when he is in the country so it wouldn’t take many for former 10-2-7er’s to be in the majority on that ride. By all accounts they could do with bringing in some new well disciplined riders😎.
