Sunday Easy Riders get lucky

We have been very lucky with the weather on our last two easy rides.

We had 15 out on the last ride of January to Treetops. Seven of us set off from Wilmslow, including Liz, out on her first ride with us (welcome!). We rode as one group, Liz had no problem keeping up and was dropping me on the Bate mill hill. Seven riders also rode the diy route from Broken Cross and by the time that we arrived were finishing their lunch, and enjoying the warmth of the cafe stove. The sun had come out, so we opted for an outdoor table, and were soon joined by Paul R who had made his own way there.

We had a dry ride back, as a slightly smaller group, as Snowy had come prepared with a trailer attached to his bike, so that he could purchase some more pet food from the reptile rescue centre at Treetops, and made his own way back home.

The first ride of February was the morning after the night before of the club ‘do’, and there was early rain forecast, so I planned a short ride to Jodrell Bank cafe. John was away, so I rode over to the Broken Cross start through some light rain. From there I led a group of 10, which became 12 with the addition of Snowy and Jim by the time that we got to Siddington. We split into 2 groups from there, with Snowy leading a slightly faster group, whilst I led the rest, including Griff, back out on his bike (hooray) after a medical break.

There was a gusty headwind, but it stayed dry, and the sun came out just before Jodrell. The arrival timing worked well with the faster group all served by the time that my group arrived. Stronger winds were forecast from 1pm, but the route back was direct and short.

Thanks to Becky, Michelle and Griff for the photos.
