Damp ride to Davenham

22 Wheelers and one dog made it to Riverside Organics at Davenham on today's easy ride.

5 of us started from Wilmslow, including Pat after a 2 month break from cycling, so we decided to ride as one group and take the slightly shorter 33 mile route. 14 set off from Broken Cross, in two groups, a larger faster group and a smaller slower group, including Michelle, back with us for a second ride. Jo made her own way there after going for a swim first, and Griff came with Alison and Winston the dog on 4 wheels, combining the trip with a canal walk.

We had requested a dry day but cycled into some misty drizzle around Plumley. The faster group from Broken Cross caught the Wilmslow group not long after, and after a quick chat sped off to the cafe to get their orders in. The slower Broken Cross group arrived at the cafe just after the Wilmslow group, but somehow managed to get ahead in the food queue. The cafe coped well with our invasion, and there was some well sheltered outdoor seating.

The rain had stopped by the time we had finished refuelling, and evicted the cafe cat off John's knee, so we all had an enjoyable ride back. Big thanks to those Broken Cross riders who navigated and looked after each other.
