Women membership highest ever
In 1948 the local paper reported the club’s inaugural meeting at the The George Hotel, Jordangate, Macclesfield, on Tuesday, July 20, at which “twenty-three interested people were present, including two young ladies”.
Now 65 members are women, nearly one of in four of us.
14 new women members have joined the club since 1 August.
We appointed our first Women’s Ambassador to the committee last year.
There are always more women than men on our Saturday Social Ride and often on our Sunday Easy Ride.
The club has more women members competing in triathlons than men.
