It’s the Saturday Club Run special to Langsett this coming.
But don’t go to the park at 10:30 because it’s a meet up before 10AM outside the Naggs Head at Water’s Green. The earlier start is because of the longer ride than normal and from Water’s Green we can get straight onto the Middlewood Way.
There will be two Cafe stops, this first at Hope late morning and the second at the Polka Dot in Langsett itself for a late lunch. Don’t count on being back early and don't set off too hard, it's about 80mls and 6k feet of climb so a tougher than normal saturday but very doable, most of the climbing is steady with just one leg bender at Strines about 20 minutes before Langsett.
On an outing like this with so many variables it’s difficult to predict pace and ride time but expect about 6 hours on the saddle.
If you aren't a member yet, or haven't attended the Saturday Club Run for over twelve months you are most welcome but it’s important to contact Fred fred.w@macclesfieldwheelers.org.uk twenty four hours in advance and please contact Fred if you intend to join en route
We may have more than one group, slower and quicker, depending on turnout
We are a mutually supportive social group(s). The ride/group leaders have no specialist training and accept no additional responsibility. We rely on everyone’s best endeavours to ride safely, support each other and never to ‘drop’ anyone. Each rider is responsible for their own wellbeing, basic spares etc. Always tell the group if you/someone behind you needs to ease-up or stop. Please take a look at this guide to riding with us on the road and these FAQs.
