Saturday Club Run

Many members regard the Saturday Club Run as the heart of the club.
Join this ride and you’re sure to discover lanes that you never knew existed, and enjoy some of the best views in the Peak District when we pause at the top of a climb for a breather or to get the group back together.
Most rides are about 50 miles, always starting at 1.00 pm. This means that from late October to March you’ll need good front and rear lights (actually many of us have at least two on the back, and a secondary front one, just in case). There’s always a cafe stop about halfway, and usually an optional pub stop in or near Macclesfield after the ride.

We’ve been doing this ride for more than 70 years and you can see some of the routes we’ve planned since 2014 on our RideWithGPS page. We’ve made these publicly available for anyone to enjoy by themselves (although any of them may now be susceptible to a road improvement scheme somewhere). But we know that riding any one of them is much more fun in a group. Do join us to find out for yourself.
Meet at
South Park Car Park, off Park Grove, Macclesfield, SK11 8AS. If it’s raining, we’ll be sheltering in the pavilion to the right.
