Role profile - Time Trial Secretary

Advise and encourage members riding time trials.

Attend committee meetings and organise the following, personally or through others.

Create the club’s TT calendar each year.

Ensure the club is affiliated to Cycling Time Trials (CTT) each season.

Be the club’s contact for Manchester & District Time Trials Association (M&DTTA).

Register the club’s TTs with M&DTTA each year, preferably by the end of January.

Organise the club’s Open 25 mile time trial, including attending the M&DTTA date fixing conference to get it into CTT calendar, booking HQ, sending police notifications, etc.

Liaise with Congleton Cycling Club regarding inter-club 25 mile TT.

Promote the club’s TT events locally and be the contact for other club secretaries and riders wishing to ride them.

Ensure that M&DTTA levies are paid by the end of October each year.

Club 10s

Liaise with Westmead Team 88 regarding joint calendar.

Sending police notifications for dates agreed for JC36

Liaise with Lower Withington Methodist Church for use of its parking area on dates agreed for JC36 and process payment through the club’s Treasurer.

Every week:

  • check the course for roadworks

  • drive the course and put out signage [can get this down to 30 mins with practice]

  • make sure we have enough people to run each event:

    • signing on

    • pushing off

    • timekeeping, and

    • marshaling.

Club 10 results

  • Take the raw results and calculate:

    •   scratch points, and

    •   handicap results.

  • Collate and publish on the club’s website.
