Role profile - Membership Secretary

  • Club authority on WebCollect.

  • Review and update membership materials such as:

    • all WebCollect content

    • online and paper membership application forms and associated documents

    • membership information on the club’s website

    • welcome and renewal emails.

  •  Consider with Web Team, other options to replace WebCollect, either off-the-shelf or developed in-house. 

  • Welcome new members as the club’s first point of contact, aiming to email them within x days.

  • Thank members for renewing, aiming to email them within x days.

  • Pass details of members buying Cycling UK affiliated membership through the club to Cycling UK within x days.

  • Produce, with the designer, membership cards, and distribute these to members as required.

  • Analyse membership data, eg men, women, U18s, new members, renewal rates, 1st aiders, etc and report these to committee meetings. Develop a way of tracking membership trends over the long-term.

  • Consider initiatives to recruit new members and retain existing ones.

  • Recruit and train someone to cover for you in processing new membership applications when you are on holiday or incapacitated.

  • Attend committee meetings.
