Another sunny easy ride

I took advantage of another sunny weather window to organise a pop-up easy ride to the Beeches golf club at Ollerton.

I led Damian, Francis and Jim from Wilmslow, whilst Rachel G led Lisa and John B from Broken Cross. Our routes converged at the start of the track from Stocks Lane towards Ollerton, so we arranged to meet up there. Both groups had some rather large puddles to navigate, but we arrived at the meeting point only a few minutes apart.

We enjoyed the smooth tarmac of the track, until Rachel discovered that her back tyre was flat. She removed her wheel and Jim sprang into action with his tyre glider tool. It worked and the puncture was soon fixed. As we set off Jim discovered that his tyre was going down, thanks to an earlier pothole. He put in some more air and made it to the cafe, for a more civilised puncture repair session, accompanied by earl grey tea and toasted teacakes.

We missed Jack who had arrived early at the cafe, but had left by the time we arrived. We rode back to Lindow End as one group, then split into Wilmslow and Macclesfield groups. John B found after he got back that he also had a puncture, so we will all be checking our bikes for unwanted visits from the puncture fairies before we next use them!
