We all know that drivers behave like idiots - doesn't help when cyclists do too (which is what the survey is saying - misleading only in the sense that 57 percent looks too low).

Last weekend John Jackson organised the weekend to Bishops Castle, provided all the routes, ordered 26 evening meal and rode over 200 miles.
On Wednesday he rode 202 miles in one day to pick up items left behind at the B&B

Fantastic ! and I thought I was the only one who hated these infernal machines, rollers are much more fun and you can even simulate crashes on them by let your attention wander. Barry Hyde once put a huge dent in the door of their brand new gas cooker during an illegal session using his rollers in the kitchen (his wife was out) and he said the resulting efforts to knock the door back to shape gave his shoulder muscles a workout a turbo could never match.

Siddington Road Race

Just want to say thanks to everyone that helped out marshalling/organizing/start/finish, etc - as usual a well-run and excellent event. Glad so many club members help out so that folks like me can actually race it! Really enjoyed the race and it was excellent prep for some of my massive races coming up!

Absolutely. A real credit to the club. From a rider's point of view the organisation was superb. The combination of the number of marshalls and the motorcycle outriders made for a very safe race. Thanks to everyone who stood out in some pretty miserable conditions. Sorry to hear about Steve.

Siddington Road Race

I cannot thanks our volunteers enough for the brilliant job you all did at the Road Race last night. There were at least 2 marshalls at each marshalling point and on some there were 3, we also managed to have 4 judges lead by Dave Werrel, who did a great job turning out results in record time. Thank you for a fantasic turnout, you did our club proud.

I have today received praise and thanks for the professionalism of our event from Steve Costello, Nigel Harrop, Paul Belfield and Paul Kirman, all who rode, so I want to pass on their thanks to you.

There was a full field for both races, which combined was 80 riders.

Unfortunately there was a crash in race 1, just after the neutralised area bringing down between 5 and 8 riders, most were unhurt but one required medical attention at HQ for cuts and grazes and Steve Burke required hospital treatment for a broken wrist, which I was very sorry to hear.
I've spoken to Steve and he's philosphical about it, road racing does have an added element of danger that you wouldn't usually get in testing.

I'm sure you'll all join with me in wishing Steve a speedy recovery, best wishes Steve.

I've decided that as TLI aren't collecting levies this year that I will donate the levy amount, £80 to East Cheshire Hospice on behalf of Macclesfield Wheelers.

Have to say that casual observation on my commute into Manchester suggests that it is highly unusual for cyclists not to jump red lights, including several people who are clearly keen cyclists. Nearly mown down yesterday crossing on a green pedestrian light when some moron just rode straight through. Just brings all cyclists into disrepute. Personally, I would support the police clamping down on this and booking people.

About red light jumping.
Interesting that only 4 % of accidents at TL caused by cyclist, but 71 % caused by motorists

Full marks to John for a top notch weekend - John, thanks for organising, it must be like herding sheep. Also to Simon for guiding the slow group, and making sure we got in a few bonus miles, and Becky for driving and taking our luggage. Some great cafe stops - maybe one day I can work up to one of thsoe Raven Gut Busters.

Yes.The orders have now closed and a delivery date has been set for the 8th June 2012
Orders totaled well over £4000 so thanks very much for your support. So far Champion Systems have been a brilliant and very responsive company to deal with, all requests made and questions answered without delay.
Have no doubt that the performance and the quality of the clothing will be excellent and with the range of clothing on offer, plus their more relaxed ordering criteria I think we have made the correct choice.
Looking for to the delivery date in just over 3 weeks time

Corrected the typo Freds time was 26:28

Re week 3 results, I think you will find that Fred did a 26.32 not a 25.32. I was off 2mins in front of him and he didn't catch me! On the night, the result sheet said 26. Just thought I'd mention it!
