Notwithstanding typesetting gremlins, I think it’s appropriate, at a time when the fourth estate is under much attack, to celebrate and honour the integrity of our very own Press Reporter, Mr Trotter, a man who would rather eat a mobile phone than hack it.

I’m sure that I am just one of his many admirers who spend Sunday evenings in delicious expectation waiting by our PCs for his weekly round-up, overflowing as it always is with what some would deride as old-fashioned journalistic virtues such as truth, accuracy and fairness.

Long may your words of wisdom flow Mr Trotter! We who are about to read salute you!
