We've had a thriving XC MTB section since the late '80's. The MTB section
ride extensively around our corner of The Peak District National Park. We
ride 'cross country' style MTB and are not hardcore 'downhillers', though we
do encounter many challenging downhill sections during our outings. The
standard of MTB cycling is quite high, though we do encourage fit, keen
beginners. We ride in any weather conditions, summer and winter, sun, rain
or snow... So be warned!
The Saturday ride starts from 'The Fermain Club', (off the Oxford Rd),
Macclesfield, at 1pm with an estimated finish time of about 6pm..
Taster rides are held occasionally between April and Nov.
These guided rides are aimed at the keen cyclist who wants to experience off road, cross country style riding in an uncompetitive environment. It's planned to cover 20+ miles with some demanding up-hill sections. The emphasis will be to keep the group together at all times, so we will move at the speed of the slowest rider. There will be a café stop half way round (e.g. Buxton/Whaley Bridge).
Estimated finish time is about 6pm.
