Veterans'Time Trials Association The VTTA was established in 1943 by E.H. Strevens, with the aim of providing the older racing cyclist with realistic competition so they would be encouraged to continue in the sport after their abilities had started to decline. Strevens devised a set of standards in tabular form, which provide individuals with an unending challenge, thereby providing motivation for continuous competition within the sport.

Audax UK Audax organise and control randonees in the UK. Randonees are events from 50 to 1000 kilometres in which riders have to finish with a certain time to gain a certificate /medal. Most rides are in scenic areas, avoiding the busiest roads.. The events are not races, no result lists are published, they may be ridden individually or in groups.

 Sustrans is a civil engineering charity which designs and builds routes for cyclists, walkers and people with disabilities. Sustrans is promoting a 6,500-mile National Cycle Network for the United Kingdom which will link schools, houses, shops and workplaces with each other and with the countryside.

Cycling Project for the North West is a registered charity whose main aim is to promote cycling throughout the region. The Project offers an information and advisory service to the public, private sector groups, local authorities, landowners and other bodies. The CPNW offers professional advice on cycling strategy, general information on cycling needs for leisure riders, market research information for industry, feasibility studies, safe routes to school, cycling events, training days, taster sessions and a wide variety of bike ride leaflets and maps.
